What we collect

Hue collects only what's needed to run the service:

  • Your email address and, if you use Google sign-in, your Google account name and profile picture.
  • An optional username and display profile shown on your public palettes page.
  • Palettes you create, edit, publish, or unpublish.
  • Likes you give to palettes and the collections you organize them into.
  • Authenticated session tokens issued by our backend so you stay signed in across devices.
  • Basic usage signals tied to palettes (such as view counts) to power Trending.

Authentication & Google OAuth

Hue offers email/password sign-in and "Continue with Google" (Google OAuth 2.0). When you choose Google, Google shares your email, name, and profile picture with Hue after you approve the consent screen. Hue never receives your Google password and only requests the minimum scopes required to identify you. You can revoke access at any time from your Google account settings.

Backend & storage (Lovable Cloud / Supabase)

Hue's accounts, palettes, likes, collections, and sessions are stored in our managed Lovable Cloud backend, which is powered by Supabase (Postgres, Auth, and Storage). Data is transmitted over TLS and protected at the row level so users can only read and modify their own private records. Public palettes and public profiles are intentionally readable by anyone.

How we use it

Your email is used for account management, password resets, and transactional messages. Palettes, likes, and collections are stored so your work syncs across devices. Public palettes and public profiles are visible to other users and may appear in Explore and Trending.

Cookies & analytics

We use essential cookies and local storage only to keep your session active and remember UI preferences. We do not run third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Data retention & deletion

Account data, likes, collections, and private palettes are kept until you delete your account, at which point they are removed from the database. Palettes you chose to publish may remain visible after deletion if they have been saved or liked by other users; contact us to request takedown.
